Your Smile Deserves The Best…

I hate that there is so much mercury in the fillings I have in my teeth. Im wondering if it would be worth it to change to the white ones.

Some reasons not to.
1. The mercury in your fillings is chemically bound and poses no health threat.
2. Every time you remove a filling you inadvertently remove some of the tooth structure and you will end up with a weaker tooth.
3. White fillings are very technique sensitive and unless the dentist is meticulous in placing them, you will have some post operative sensitivity, especially to temperature.
4. The life expectancy of a white filling is not nearly as long as a silver filling. Think carefully before doing this just for appearance reasons or health reasons.

Yes. Plus they look trampy when you open your mouth to laugh and there’s these big splotches of grey which from a distance can look like tooth decay. I had 1 of mine changed and am planning or having my other NHS grey filling taken out and have a white one put in instead. It’s a worthwhile investment.

White fillings [composites] have an estrogen mimicking material in them. The only "safe" material is gold. So just pick your poison! Actually, none of the dental materials are harmful in the amounts that are used.
